Confession 

A statement of faith or a general declaration of religious belief. This can apply to the ancient ecumenical creeds, e.g., the Apostles' Creed, or to the professions of faith of a particular denomination, e.g., the United Church of Christ Statement of Faith or the Lutheran Augsburg Confession.
